About Giant Shark

Giant Shark, Creature — shark, designed by Tom Wänerstrand first released in Aug, 1994 in the set The Dark.

A deck that focuses on controlling the board and creating conditions where the opponent is likely to have Islands would benefit from using Giant Shark, as it can become a powerful attacker with trample under the right circumstances. However, there are potentially better options available depending on the specific strategy of the deck, such as Slinn Voda, the Rising Deep, which offers a similar effect with more flexibility. Giant Shark could see play in a deck that can consistently ensure the opponent controls Islands, but it may not be a top choice in competitive play due to its conditional nature.

Rules

10/04/04

Giant Shark only gains its bonus if the blocking creature was damaged before blocking was declared. Damaging the creature later will not give the Shark the bonus.

10/04/04

If a creature enters a blocking situation with the Giant Shark due to being part of a banded group of attackers, the Shark will get the bonus if that creature is damaged at that time.
