The Failed Inspection card would be beneficial in control decks looking to disrupt their opponent's game plan while also maintaining card advantage. However, there are better options available such as Counterspell or Mana Leak, which offer more efficient and versatile counterspells without the drawback of discarding a card. Failed Inspection may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its higher mana cost and less impactful effect compared to other available options.
