Extravagant Spirit could be beneficial in a control deck that aims to maintain a low hand size while still having a strong flying creature on the battlefield. However, the downside of having to pay for each card in your hand during upkeep may limit its effectiveness. Other cards like Serendib Efreet or Delver of Secrets may offer better value for a similar cost and could see more play in competitive Magic: The Gathering decks.
