About Exponential Growth

Exponential Growth, Sorcery, designed by Izzy first released in Apr, 2021 in the set Strixhaven: School of Mages and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.

Exponential Growth would be beneficial in a green ramp deck that aims to quickly build up a large board presence. However, there are better cards like Overrun or Craterhoof Behemoth that provide similar effects with more impact. While Exponential Growth could see situational play in certain decks, it may not be a top choice for competitive play due to its high mana cost and limited impact compared to other options.

Rules

04/16/21

If a creature’s power is less than 0 when it’s doubled, instead that creature gets -X/-0, where X is how much less than 0 its power is. For example, if an effect has given a 5/5 creature -7/-0 so that it’s a -2/5 creature, doubling its power makes it a -4/5 creature.

04/16/21

If an effect instructs you to “double” a creature’s power, that creature gets +X/+0, where X is its power as that effect begins to apply. (This is not the value of X you chose when you cast the spell)
