About Borderland Explorer

Borderland Explorer, Creature — elf scout, designed by Lucas Graciano first released in Aug, 2016 in the set Conspiracy: Take the Crown and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

This Borderland Explorer card would benefit a deck focused on ramping up mana quickly or fixing mana base, particularly in a casual or multiplayer setting where players are more likely to want to search for basic lands. However, in more competitive or focused decks, there are better options like Sakura-Tribe Elder or Farseek that provide more efficient ramping without the need for discarding cards, making them more viable choices for consistent and optimized gameplay. Overall, while Borderland Explorer has its niche uses, it may not see much play in more competitive Magic: the Gathering decks.

Rules

08/23/16

Players decide whether or not they’re discarding a card in turn order. Each player will know if previous players are discarding, but not what they are discarding. All cards to be discarded are set aside, then revealed and discarded simultaneously. Similarly, all basic land cards searched for are set aside, then revealed simultaneously.
