About Bayou

Bayou, Land — swamp forest, designed by Jesper Myrfors first released in May, 2020 in the set Limited Edition Alpha and was printed exactly in 16 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.

Bayou is a powerful card for any deck that utilizes black and green mana, making it particularly beneficial in midrange or control strategies that focus on creatures, removal, and card advantage, such as Golgari or Sultai decks. While there are other dual lands like Overgrown Tomb or Woodland Cemetery that can serve similar purposes, Bayou's ability to tap for both colors without entering the battlefield tapped makes it superior in terms of tempo and efficiency. Given its versatility and the mana fixing it provides, Bayou should definitely see play in competitive formats where it is legal, especially in decks that aim to maximize the synergy between black and green cards.
