About Angrath, Minotaur Pirate

Angrath, Minotaur Pirate, Legendary planeswalker — angrath, designed by Chris Rahn first released in Jan, 2018 in the set Rivals of Ixalan.

Angrath, Minotaur Pirate would be a great fit in a Rakdos Pirate tribal deck, where its abilities synergize well with other Pirate creatures. While it offers versatile removal and graveyard recursion, its high mana cost may limit its playability in faster formats like Modern or Legacy. However, in casual or Commander games focused on Pirate themes, Angrath can be a strong inclusion, though other cards like Kitesail Freebooter or Dire Fleet Daredevil may offer more immediate impact in certain situations.

Rules

01/19/18

Angrath’s first and last abilities target only the player. Creatures with hexproof that player controls will be affected.

01/19/18

Any abilities of the destroyed creatures that trigger when the player is dealt damage won’t trigger.

01/19/18

If a creature controlled by the target opponent isn’t destroyed as Angrath’s last ability resolves (most likely because it has indestructible), its power still contributes to the amount of damage dealt. Use its power as it currently exists on the battlefield to determine the total power of the creatures.
