Han So-hee, born Lee So-hee on November 18, 1994, is a South Korean actor whose television breakthrough came with JTBC’s 2020 marital drama The World of the Married. She played Yeo Da-kyung, the younger woman involved with married doctor Lee Tae-oh, portrayed by Park Hae-joon. The series, adapted from BBC One’s Doctor Foster, became a major ratings success in Korea; its final episode recorded 28.37 percent nationwide viewership on JTBC. Her performance brought her Best New Actress recognition at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards and the 2020 APAN Star Awards. Before that role, Han appeared in music videos, including SHINee’s “Tell Me What to Do” in 2016, and made her acting debut in SBS’s Reunited Worlds in 2017. She subsequently appeared in MBC’s Money Flower and in tvN’s 100 Days My Prince, where she played Kim So-hye, a concubine. In 2019’s Abyss, she portrayed ambitious lawyer Jang Hee-jin. Han reached a different audience as Yoo Na-bi in JTBC’s Nevertheless (2021), adapted from a webtoon. Na-bi, an art student, enters a fraught relationship with Park Jae-eon, played by Song Kang. That same year, Netflix released My Name, in which Han led as Yoon Ji-woo. After her father’s murder, Ji-woo joins a drug organization headed by Choi Mu-jin, played by Park Hee-soon, and infiltrates the police under the name Oh Hye-jin. The crime-action series was directed by Kim Jin-min, who had directed the Netflix series Extracurricular. In 2022, Han starred opposite Park Hyung-sik in Disney+’s Soundtrack #1, a four-episode romance about lyricist Seo Eun-soo and photographer Han Sun-woo. She then played Yoon Chae-ok in Netflix’s Gyeongseong Creature, set in 1945 during Japanese colonial rule in Korea. Chae-ok searches for her missing mother with her father while events at Ongseong Hospital expose human experimentation. Park Seo-joon co-starred as Jang Tae-sang. The show’s first part premiered in December 2023, and its second part followed in January 2024. Han also appeared in the 2024 South Korean disaster film Project Silence, directed by Kim Tae-gon. The film follows people trapped on a collapsing airport bridge after a chain-reaction accident and was first screened in the Midnight Screenings section at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. In Gyeongseong Creature’s second season, released in 2024, the story shifts to present-day Seoul, where Han also plays Yoon Chae-ok, still alive after the events of 1945. She became Balenciaga’s global ambassador in 2022. The appointment was announced. She attended the house’s Paris fashion presentations afterward, including its 2023 couture show.
