About Merfolk Skydiver
Merfolk Skydiver, Creature — merfolk mutant, designed by Sara Winters first released in Apr, 2019 in the set War of the Spark and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
A deck that focuses on +1/+1 counters and proliferate mechanics would greatly benefit from including Merfolk Skydiver. This card provides both a flying threat and a way to increase the power of your creatures while also enabling further proliferation. While there may be more powerful options available, such as Winding Constrictor for additional counter synergy, Merfolk Skydiver's versatility and efficiency make it a solid choice for decks looking to capitalize on +1/+1 counters and proliferate effects.
Rules

Players can respond to a spell or ability whose effect includes proliferating. Once that spell or ability starts to resolve, however, and its controller chooses which permanents and players will get new counters, it’s too late for anyone to respond.

To proliferate, you can choose any permanent that has a counter, including ones controlled by opponents. You can’t choose cards in any zone other than the battlefield, even if they have counters on them.
