A deck that focuses on creature duplication or recursion would benefit from using Mask of the Mimic in Magic: the Gathering. This card can be particularly useful in decks that rely on powerful creatures with unique abilities, allowing players to quickly search for and put another copy of that creature onto the battlefield. However, there are better alternatives like Clone or Phyrexian Metamorph, which provide similar effects without the need to sacrifice a creature as an additional cost. Players can only respond once this spell has been cast and all its costs have been paid. No one can try to destroy the creature you sacrificed to prevent you from casting this spell.

If a copy card is targeted by this effect, you get to look for another copy of the card it is copying. This is because a copy card actually takes on the name and initial characteristics of what it copies.
