About Map the Wastes

Map the Wastes, Sorcery, designed by Volkan Baǵa first released in Jan, 2015 in the set Fate Reforged and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

A deck that focuses on ramping up mana quickly and utilizing +1/+1 counters on creatures would benefit from including Map the Wastes. However, there are better cards available for ramping and bolstering creatures, such as Rampant Growth for mana ramping and Hardened Scales for +1/+1 counters. While Map the Wastes can be a decent inclusion in certain decks, it may not be a top choice for competitive play due to the availability of more efficient alternatives.

Rules

11/24/14

Bolster itself doesn’t target any creature, though some spells and abilities that bolster may have other effects that target creatures. For example, you could put counters on a creature with protection from white with Abzan Skycaptain’s bolster ability.
