This card could be beneficial in a red aggressive deck that focuses on quick damage output and card advantage. However, there are better options available such as Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning, which provide more efficient and reliable damage output. Mage il-Vec may struggle to see play in competitive decks due to its randomness and cost compared to other more powerful options.
