About Kird Ape

Kird Ape, Creature — ape, designed by Ken Meyer, Jr. first released in Dec, 1993 in the set Arabian Nights and was printed exactly in 13 different ways.

Kird Ape is best suited for aggressive red-green (Gruul) decks that focus on fast-paced, creature-based strategies, particularly those that utilize a strong land base with Forests to maximize its power and toughness boost. While Kird Ape can be effective in early-game aggression, there are stronger alternatives like **Llanowar Elves** or **Pelt Collector**, which provide better ramp or scaling potential in the long run. However, Kird Ape can still see play in specific formats or casual decks where its synergy with other aggressive creatures and spells can shine, especially in a meta that favors low-cost threats.
