About Ixalli's Diviner

Ixalli's Diviner, Creature — human druid, designed by Lucas Graciano first released in Sep, 2017 in the set Ixalan and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

Ixalli's Diviner would fit well in a green-based midrange or ramp deck looking to gain card advantage and potentially grow a threat on the board. While it provides a consistent source of card advantage through exploration, there are stronger options like Jadelight Ranger that offer more immediate value and board presence, making Ixalli's Diviner a less optimal choice for competitive play but still a fun inclusion in casual decks focusing on exploration mechanics.

Rules

01/19/18

If a resolving spell or ability instructs a specific creature to explore but that creature has left the battlefield, the creature still explores. If you reveal a nonland card this way, you won’t put a +1/+1 counter on anything, but you may put the revealed card into your graveyard. Effects that trigger “whenever a creature you control explores” trigger if appropriate.

01/19/18

Once an ability that causes a creature to explore begins to resolve, no player may take any other actions until it’s done. Notably, opponents can’t try to remove the exploring creature after you reveal a nonland card but before it receives a counter.
