About Hooded Assassin

Hooded Assassin, Creature — human assassin, designed by Matt Stewart first released in Jan, 2015 in the set Fate Reforged and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

A deck focused on controlling the board and removing threats would benefit from including Hooded Assassin, as it provides versatility with the choice of either buffing itself or removing an opponent's damaged creature upon entering the battlefield. However, there are potentially better options depending on the specific strategy of the deck, such as removal spells or creatures with more impactful abilities. Hooded Assassin could see play in a deck looking for a flexible and efficient creature, but its effectiveness would depend on the overall game plan and card synergy within the deck.

Rules

11/24/14

If a creature was dealt damage but regenerated (which removes all damage from it), it will still be a legal target for the second mode of the triggered ability.

11/24/14

If a mode requires a target and there are no legal targets available, you must choose the mode that adds a +1/+1 counter.
