This Guard Dogs Magic: the Gathering card would benefit a deck that focuses on controlling the battlefield and protecting key permanents from combat damage. While it can be useful in certain situations, there are better cards like Mother of Runes or Giver of Runes that offer more versatile protection abilities. Guard Dogs may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limited scope of protection compared to other options available.
