About Gods Willing

Gods Willing, Instant, designed by Mark Winters first released in Sep, 2013 in the set Theros and was printed exactly in 12 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Commander and Pauper.

This card, Gods Willing, would be beneficial in a White Weenie or Aggro deck in Magic: the Gathering, providing protection for a key creature while also offering a scry 1 advantage. While there are other cards like Sheltering Light or Apostle's Blessing that offer similar protection effects, Gods Willing's added scry ability makes it a versatile and valuable inclusion in decks focused on aggressive strategies or protecting key creatures from removal spells. It should definitely see play in decks looking to protect their threats and gain card selection advantage simultaneously.

Rules

07/12/19

If the target creature is an illegal target by the time Gods Willing tries to resolve, the spell doesn’t resolve. You won’t scry 1. If the target creature becomes an illegal target while Gods Willing is resolving (most likely because you gave it protection from white), you do scry 1.

09/15/13

Scry appears on some spells and abilities with one or more targets. If all of the spell or ability’s targets are illegal when it tries to resolve, it won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen. You won’t scry.

09/15/13

You choose how to order cards returned to your library after scrying no matter where you put them.

09/15/13

You choose the color as Gods Willing resolves. Once the color is chosen, it’s too late for players to respond.
