Fiend of the Shadows would be a strong addition to a black-based control or midrange deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's hand and board while maintaining a strong flying threat. While it offers card advantage and potential regeneration, its high mana cost may limit its playability compared to more efficient options like Vampire Nighthawk or Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet in competitive Magic: The Gathering formats. However, in a casual or themed vampire deck, Fiend of the Shadows could still see play for its flavorful abilities and synergies.

As long as the card remains exiled, you may still play it, even if Fiend of the Shadows leaves the battlefield or changes controllers.
