About Faith's Shield

Faith's Shield, Instant, designed by Svetlin Velinov first released in Feb, 2012 in the set Dark Ascension. It see play in 1 formats: Duel Commander.

A white control deck focused on protecting key permanents or surviving at low life totals would benefit from including Faith's Shield in their deck. While Faith's Shield provides a versatile protection effect, there are potentially better options like Teferi's Protection or Apostle's Blessing that offer additional benefits or flexibility. Whether Faith's Shield should see play depends on the specific strategy and meta of the deck, but it could be a useful inclusion in the right circumstances.

01/22/11

Faith’s Shield targets a permanent regardless of how much life you have. If that permanent is an illegal target when Faith’s Shield tries to resolve, Faith’s Shield won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen. Neither you nor any of your permanents will gain protection from a color.
