Evernight Shade, Creature — shade, designed by Nic Klein first released in May, 2012 in the set Avacyn Restored and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Evernight Shade could be a valuable addition to a mono-black aggro or midrange deck in Magic: the Gathering, as its ability to grow in power with each activation can provide a consistent threat to opponents. However, there are potentially better options available, such as Vampire Nighthawk, which offers flying, lifelink, and deathtouch for the same mana cost, making it a more versatile and impactful choice for many decks. Ultimately, Evernight Shade may not see widespread play in competitive formats due to its limited impact compared to other available options.

Evernight Shade’s ability doesn’t put +1/+1 counters on it; it just gives Evernight Shade +1/+1 until end of turn. If Evernight Shade has no +1/+1 counters on it and dies after its ability has resolved, undying will still return it to the battlefield.
