About Emeria, the Sky Ruin

Emeria, the Sky Ruin, Land, designed by Jaime Jones first released in May, 2020 in the set Zendikar and was printed exactly in 5 different ways. It's a key card in 1 combos.

A deck that focuses on white-based control or midrange strategies, with a high number of Plains in the mana base, would benefit from including Emeria, the Sky Ruin. This card provides recurring value by bringing back key creature cards from the graveyard, providing resilience and card advantage in longer games. While there may be more efficient options for graveyard recursion in certain decks, such as Sun Titan or Reveillark, Emeria, the Sky Ruin can still be a strong inclusion in the right deck as a value engine that can help grind out wins in a slower-paced game.

Rules

10/01/09

Emeria, the Sky Ruin’s triggered ability has an “intervening ‘if’ clause.” That means (1) the ability won’t trigger at all unless you control seven or more Plains as your upkeep starts, and (2) the ability will do nothing if you control fewer than seven Plains by the time it resolves.
