Deathreap Ritual, Enchantment, designed by Steve Argyle first released in Jun, 2014 in the set Conspiracy and was printed exactly in 8 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
Deathreap Ritual would be a strong addition to a Golgari midrange or control deck in Magic: The Gathering, as it provides card advantage when creatures die, which is a common occurrence in those archetypes. However, there are better options like Phyrexian Arena or Midnight Reaper that offer consistent card draw without the condition of a creature dying. While Deathreap Ritual may not be a top-tier card, it could still see play in more casual or budget decks looking to capitalize on creature death triggers for card advantage.

If a creature didn’t die before a turn’s end step begins, Deathreap Ritual’s ability doesn’t trigger at all. The creature may have died before Deathreap Ritual entered the battlefield, however.
