A red aggro or burn deck would benefit from using Circle of Flame to help control the board against aggressive creature-based strategies. While Circle of Flame can be effective in certain matchups, there are potentially better options like Pyroclasm or Anger of the Gods that offer more impactful board wipes. Whether Circle of Flame should see play depends on the specific metagame and the prevalence of creature-heavy decks in the environment.

Circle of Flame’s ability triggers only if a creature without flying is declared as an attacker during the declare attackers step. If a creature with flying attacks you or a planeswalker you control and then loses flying, or if a creature without flying is put onto the battlefield attacking you or a planeswalker you control, the ability won’t trigger.
