Chronatog Totem, Artifact, designed by Christopher Rush first released in Oct, 2006 in the set Time Spiral.
A deck that focuses on controlling the tempo of the game and generating mana advantage, such as a blue control or tempo deck, would benefit from using Chronatog Totem. While it offers versatility as both a mana source and a potential threat, there are arguably better cards available for similar purposes, such as Birthing Boughs or Gilded Lotus, which provide more consistent benefits without the drawback of skipping a turn. Overall, Chronatog Totem may not see much play in competitive decks due to its high cost and situational nature.

A noncreature permanent that turns into a creature can attack, and its abilities can be activated, only if its controller has continuously controlled that permanent since the beginning of their most recent turn. It doesn’t matter how long the permanent has been a creature.
