While Assassinate is a decent removal option for tapped creatures, there are more versatile and efficient options available, such as Murder or Fatal Push, which can target any creature regardless of its tapped status. As such, Assassinate may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limited scope and higher mana cost compared to other removal spells.
