Während Gift Horse Potenzial für Gelegenheits- oder Spaßspiele hat, können ähnliche Karten wie Goblin Slider oder Goblin Barrage aufgrund ihres direkten Einflusses auf den Spielbrettzustand oder der Möglichkeit, entfernt zu werden, konsistentere Vorteile für kompetitives Spielen bieten.
