Jung Hae-in

Jung Hae-in (Korean 정해인; born April 1, 1988) is a South Korean actor known for dramas including Something in the Rain, One Spring Night, D.P., and Snowdrop. Born in Seoul, he studied broadcasting entertainment at Pyeongtaek University. Before regular television acting work, he appeared in AOA Black's 2013 music video for “Moya.” His first television drama credit was TV Chosun’s 2014 series Bride of the Century. He subsequently took smaller parts in productions such as The Three Musketeers, Blood, Reply 1988, Yeah, That’s How It Is, and Goblin. These appearances gave him visibility before his first widely noticed supporting role. In 2017, Jung played police officer Han Woo-tak in the fantasy-romance drama While You Were Sleeping, alongside Lee Jong-suk and Bae Suzy. That year, he also portrayed imprisoned army captain Yoo Jeong-woo in Prison Playbook. His leading role in 2018’s Something in the Rain made him especially prominent: he played Seo Joon-hee, an animator who enters a relationship with Yoon Jin-ah, portrayed by Son Ye-jin. The series was directed by Ahn Pan-seok and examined their romance amid workplace harassment and family opposition. It aired on JTBC from March to May 2018 and ran for sixteen episodes in its original broadcast run. Jung reunited with director Ahn Pan-seok for the 2019 MBC drama One Spring Night. He played Yoo Ji-ho, a pharmacist and single father whose relationship with librarian Lee Jung-in, played by Han Ji-min, becomes the story’s center. In the same year, he starred opposite Kim Go-eun in the film Tune in for Love. Set across several years, it follows former juvenile detainee Hyun-woo and bakery worker Mi-soo following his release from detention. His film work also includes the 2019 historical action picture Start-Up, directed by Choi Jeong-yeol. In it, he played Sang-pil, one of the film’s principal supporting characters. In Netflix’s D.P., adapted from Kim Bo-tong’s webtoon D.P. Dog Days, Jung plays private Ahn Jun-ho. The series follows members of a South Korean military police unit assigned to find deserters, while confronting abuse and violence within compulsory service. The first season premiered in 2021, and Jung returned for its second season in 2023. He played North Korean agent Lim Su-ho in JTBC’s Snowdrop, set in 1987 amid South Korea’s democratization movement. In 2022, he starred in Disney+’s science-fiction thriller Connect as Dong-soo, a man whose organ is transplanted into a serial killer. Takashi Miike directed the series for Disney+.
