NAYEON is the stage name of Im Na-yeon, a South Korean singer and a member of the K-pop group TWICE. Born on September 22, 1995, she joined JYP Entertainment after passing an open audition in 2010. She trained for several years before debuting with TWICE in October 2015, following the television competition Sixteen, which selected the group’s members. TWICE’s debut single, “Like OOH-AHH,” introduced NAYEON as one of its vocalists and performers.
With TWICE, NAYEON has contributed to a catalogue of group releases that includes “Cheer Up,” “TT,” “Fancy,” and “The Feels.” The group became known for bright, tightly arranged pop singles, while later releases explored a broader range of sounds. NAYEON’s clear vocal tone and prominent parts in TWICE’s songs made her a recognizable member of the group. She has also taken part in the group’s concerts, recordings, and international promotions.
In June 2022, NAYEON made her solo debut with the mini-album *Im Nayeon*. Its lead single, “Pop!,” was a lively dance-pop track built around an immediately recognizable chorus and a buoyant, high-energy arrangement. The album also featured “No Problem,” a collaboration with Stray Kids member Felix, as well as songs including “Love Countdown,” featuring Wonstein, and “All or Nothing.” *Im Nayeon* reached number seven on the U.S. Billboard 200, making her the first K-pop soloist to enter the chart’s top ten. The result marked a significant milestone for a solo release by a member of an established K-pop group.
Her second mini-album, *Na*, arrived in June 2024. Its lead single, “ABCD,” paired a polished pop production with a confident performance, presenting a different mood from the playful “Pop!” The album included collaborations with artists such as KISS OF LIFE’s Julie on “Magic” and Sam Kim on “Heaven.” With *Na*, NAYEON continued to shape a solo identity alongside her ongoing work with TWICE.
NAYEON’s career is defined by those two connected roles: a central performer in one of K-pop’s most successful groups and a solo artist with charting releases of her own. Her individual music draws attention to her vocal color and stage presence, while her work with TWICE places those qualities within a larger group sound. From her 2015 debut to the releases of *Im Nayeon* and *Na*, her discography documents a steady expansion from group member to established solo performer.
