Jung Hae-in

Jung Hae-in (Korean: 정해인) is a South Korean actor born on April 1, 1988, in Seoul. He studied Broadcasting Entertainment at Pyeongtaek University before pursuing acting. His first screen appearance came in the 2013 music video for AOA Black’s “Moya,” and he made his television drama debut in TV Chosun’s 2014 series Bride of the Century. He subsequently took supporting parts in productions including The Three Musketeers and Blood, building a profile through television work.

His recognition widened in 2017. In the fantasy legal drama While You Were Sleeping, he played police officer Han Woo-tak, a role that brought him a wider audience. That year, he also appeared in Prison Playbook as Yoo Jeong-woo, a former baseball player imprisoned after being convicted of assault. In 2018, he led JTBC’s romance drama Something in the Rain as Seo Joon-hee, an art director whose relationship with Yoon Jin-ah faces family and workplace pressures. The series paired him with Son Ye-jin and became a notable turning point in his career.

He reunited with director Ahn Pan-seok for the 2019 MBC drama One Spring Night. There, he portrayed Yoo Ji-ho, a pharmacist and single father whose romance with librarian Lee Jeong-in challenges social expectations. Jung also headlined the 2019 film Tune in for Love opposite Kim Go-eun. Set across the late 1990s and 2000s, it follows Hyun-woo and Mi-su as circumstances repeatedly separate them. In 2021, he took on one of his most internationally visible roles in Netflix’s D.P., adapted from Kim Bo-tong’s webtoon D.P. Dog Day. He plays Ahn Jun-ho, a private assigned to a military police unit that tracks soldiers absent without leave. The drama directly addresses hazing and abuse within compulsory military service.

He returned as Jun-ho in D.P. season two, released in 2023, alongside Koo Kyo-hwan as Han Ho-yeol. Jung then starred in the 2021 JTBC drama Snowdrop as Lim Soo-ho, a graduate student whose concealed identity drives the period melodrama set in 1987 Seoul. His later projects include Disney+’s 2022 science-fiction thriller Connect, directed by Takashi Miike, in which he plays Dong-soo, a man whose body can regenerate and whose eye becomes linked to a serial killer.

In 2024, he appeared in the action film I, the Executioner, director Ryoo Seung-wan’s sequel to Veteran, playing detective Park Sun-woo. He also led tvN’s 2024 romantic comedy Love Next Door as Choi Seung-hyo, an architect reunited with his childhood friend again.
