A deck that focuses on evasion and card advantage, such as a control or tempo deck, would benefit from including Thalakos Drifters. While it provides a way to block or be blocked by only creatures with shadow, its ability to gain shadow by discarding a card can be useful for getting past opponent's defenses. However, there may be better options like Inkfathom Infiltrator, which has unblockable by default and can't be blocked except by artifact creatures or creatures that share a color with it, making it a stronger choice in most scenarios. Thalakos Drifters could see play in specific niche strategies, but overall, there are more efficient options available.
