This card, Rain of Salt, would be beneficial in a red deck that focuses on land destruction as a win condition or disrupting the opponent's mana base. However, there are better alternatives like Stone Rain or Molten Rain that have a lower mana cost and can target a single land for more efficient removal. Rain of Salt may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its high cost and limited flexibility compared to other land destruction options available.
