Soundtrack #1 is a 2022 South Korean romantic drama released on Disney+ as a four-episode series. It stars Han So-hee as Seo Eun-soo, a lyricist, and Park Hyung-sik as Han Sun-woo, a photographer. Their characters have been close friends for two decades, a history that gives the story its central tension: Eun-soo needs to write lyrics about unrequited love, while Sun-woo has quietly loved her for years. A professional assignment changes their familiar routine. Eun-soo is asked to produce words for a song centered on one-sided affection, but she cannot easily find the emotional language required. She persuades Sun-woo to live with her for two weeks, believing that observing his perspective may help her understand the subject. The arrangement puts his feelings in direct conflict with the friendship he does not want to lose. Rather than using a long episodic run, the drama follows the compressed period of cohabitation and the small shifts in how both friends interpret their past and present. Kim Hee-won directed the series, with Chae Yoon credited as writer. Disney+ premiered Soundtrack #1 on March 23, 2022, and released its final episode on April 13, 2022. The project was produced as a Disney+ original Korean drama, not as a conventional television season with a large number of episodes. Its short format keeps the focus on the emotional question raised by the premise: whether affection can remain hidden once two people must speak honestly about love. The supporting cast includes Kim Joo-hun as Woo-il, a well-known composer connected to Eun-soo’s work, and Yoon Byung-hee as Dong-hyun, Sun-woo’s friend. Music is not merely background in the drama; Eun-soo’s job makes the act of turning feeling into song lyrics part of the plot. The title also reflects that connection, framing the series around songs, songwriting, and the memories attached to them. Park Hyung-sik’s Sun-woo is presented as observant and restrained, qualities that suit his work as a photographer and his reluctance to confess. Han So-hee’s Eun-soo is more direct and practical about the lyrics project, even when she does not initially recognize what Sun-woo’s experience means. Their shared apartment, conversations about the song, and encounters with people from their professional circles steadily make their long friendship harder to define in its old terms. Soundtrack #1 belongs to Disney’s early slate of Korean originals and was followed by the separately titled 2023 series Soundtrack #2. It centers solely on them.
