Moving is a 2023 Korean television series released on Disney+. Adapted from Kang Full’s webtoon of the same title, it was written by Kang himself and directed by Park In-je. The drama begins with three high-school students whose unusual abilities have been concealed from the public: Kim Bong-seok can float and fly, Jang Hee-soo rapidly heals, and Lee Gang-hoon possesses exceptional strength and speed. Their parents, however, are not ordinary guardians. They are former agents connected to South Korea’s covert National Intelligence Service, and their past operations become central to the story. Disney+ released seven episodes on August 9, 2023. The principal teenage cast includes Lee Jung-ha as Bong-seok, Go Youn-jung as Hee-soo, and Kim Do-hoon as Gang-hoon. Han Hyo-joo plays Bong-seok’s mother Lee Mi-hyun, while Zo In-sung portrays his father Kim Doo-sik, a missing operative known for flight and combat skills. Ryu Seung-ryong appears as Jang Ju-won, Hee-soo’s father, whose recovery ability has made him difficult to kill. The adult narrative also features Kim Sung-kyun as Gang-hoon’s father, Lee Jae-man, and Lee Hee-joon as Frank, an assassin pursuing people with powers. Their characters link school setting to flashbacks involving intelligence work, betrayal, and North Korean counterparts from decades earlier. Rather than keeping its parents only in the background, Moving devotes substantial time to their earlier lives. Flashbacks show Doo-sik and Mi-hyun working under NIS authority, while Ju-won is recruited after a life of violence. The series also revisits a 1990s mission connected to North Korean agents with abilities. The historical strands explain why several adults have hidden their identities and why their children face danger. The antagonist Frank targets former agents, creating pressure that forces old allies to confront the consequences of secret state programs. Kang’s script uses separate family histories before bringing them into the same conflict at school. Moving concluded with its twentieth episode on September 20, 2023, after Disney+ used a staggered release schedule. It was produced by Studio & New, and its reported production cost of roughly 65 billion won made it one of the most expensive Korean dramas at the time. At the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2024, Moving won the Grand Prize for Television, while its performers also received acting recognition. The show became especially notable as a Disney+ Korean original that combined superhero material with espionage, family drama, and period flashbacks. The adaptation kept webtoon creator Kang Full as its screenwriter throughout.
