The Social Reckoning

The Social Reckoning follows Frances Haugen, a young Facebook engineer, as she decides to expose information from inside the social network. Seeking help beyond the company, she joins forces with Jeff Horwitz, a reporter for The Wall Street Journal. Their collaboration develops into a dangerous journey aimed at bringing Facebook's most closely guarded secrets into public view.

The film centers on Haugen and Horwitz as the key figures in that whistleblowing effort: an engineer with access to internal material and a journalist positioned to investigate and report what it reveals. Rather than treating the story as an abstract debate about technology, The Social Reckoning frames it through the risks and decisions involved in taking confidential information out of one of the world's most powerful social-media companies.
