A control deck in a blue-black color combination would benefit from using Soured Springs as it provides both blue and black mana while also dealing damage to an opponent upon entering the battlefield. However, there are better options available such as Watery Grave which provides the same colors of mana without the drawback of entering tapped or dealing damage. Overall, Soured Springs may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limitations compared to other land options.
