This Havoc Demon card would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on board control and removal. It can be particularly effective against decks that rely on small creatures, as the -5/-5 effect can clear the board and swing the game in your favor. However, there are other cards like Damnation or Toxic Deluge that offer similar board wipe effects at a lower mana cost, making them more efficient choices in most situations. While Havoc Demon can be situationally useful, it may not see widespread play due to its high mana cost and the availability of better alternatives.

All creatures on the battlefield when Havoc Demon’s triggered ability resolves are affected. Ones that enter the battlefield or become creatures later in the turn are not.
