Comforting Counsel would fit best in a green‑based lifegain or “Selesnya” (green/white) go‑wide deck that can repeatedly gain small amounts of life (e.g., Soul Warden–style effects) while producing multiple creatures, since it needs consistent life triggers and a board presence to make the +3/+3 anthem matter; however, it’s likely too slow and conditional compared to stronger, more reliable options like **Ajani’s Pridemate** or **Voice of the Blessed** (which grow themselves immediately with lifegain), **Heliod, Sun-Crowned** (which turns lifegain into permanent counters across your board), or even classic anthem effects like **Glorious Anthem** or **Felidar Retreat**, which provide immediate value without waiting for five triggers.
