A tribal deck, such as a Goblin or Elf tribal deck, would benefit greatly from Coat of Arms in Magic: the Gathering. It can quickly pump up the power and toughness of all creatures sharing a creature type, potentially creating huge threats on the battlefield. However, there are other cards like Shared Animosity that can offer a similar effect for a lower cost and with less potential downside, making it a more efficient choice in many cases. Coat of Arms can still see play in casual tribal decks for its powerful effect, but competitive decks may opt for more efficient alternatives.

Sharing multiple creature types doesn’t give an additional bonus. Coat of Arms counts creatures, not creature types.

If a creature has more than one creature type, and one of those types matches the creature you are calculating for, then count that creature. Only one type needs to match in order to get counted.
