Gen V

Gen V is an American superhero series set in the same universe as Prime Video’s The Boys. Developed by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke, it follows students at Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, a Vought International-backed college that markets young people injected with Compound V as future heroes. The first season premiered on Prime Video on September 29, 2023, and its eight episodes concluded on November 3. Rather than treating Godolkin as an ordinary campus, the show makes its rankings, sponsorships, and “hero” training part of Vought’s corporate machinery. Its central newcomer is Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair, whose ability to control blood is inseparable from a traumatic past: as a child, she accidentally killed her parents after discovering her powers. At Godolkin, Marie meets Jordan Li, portrayed by Derek Luh and London Thor, whose power changes with their male and female forms; Emma Meyer, Lizze Broadway’s size-changing student; Andre Anderson, Chance Perdomo’s magnetism-wielding son of superhero Polarity; and Cate Dunlap, played by Maddie Phillips, who can compel people through touch. The season begins with the death of Godolkin’s celebrated Golden Boy, Luke Riordan, played by Patrick Schwarzenegger. His suicide and cryptic final words propel Marie and the others toward “the Woods,” a hidden Vought facility beneath the university. There, they discover that Dean Indira Shetty, played by Shelley Conn, has been exploiting imprisoned supes, including Luke’s brother Sam, portrayed by Asa Germann. Shetty’s real project is a virus designed to kill people with Compound V in their bodies. The revelation links campus intrigue to the wider conflict over supes in The Boys. Gen V directly intersects with The Boys through appearances by Claudia Doumit’s vice-presidential candidate Victoria Neuman, Colby Minifie’s Vought executive Ashley Barrett, and Antony Starr’s Homelander. In the finale, Cate and Sam turn against Marie, Jordan, Emma, and Andre, while Homelander publicly frames Marie’s group as attackers. The finale imprisons the four in a sealed room; a mid-credits scene finds Butcher in the Woods, connecting directly to The Boys. Prime Video renewed Gen V for a second season in October 2023. After Chance Perdomo died in March 2024, the production stated that Andre Anderson would not be recast. The show was created as a standalone story, yet its events deliberately move alongside the parent series and Vought’s escalating political crisis. Its students face consequences beyond Godolkin’s carefully fabricated campus reputation and Vought’s celebrity culture nationwide.
