Woodland Investigation is particularly beneficial in ramp or midrange decks that aim to accelerate their mana base while also gaining card advantage through Clue tokens. It synergizes well with decks that utilize cards that can sacrifice artifacts for additional benefits or those that benefit from drawing extra cards. While there are other cards like Cultivate or Kodama's Reach that can also search for lands, they don't provide the additional Clue artifact benefit. However, if your deck can leverage the Clue mechanic effectively, Woodland Investigation should see play, especially in formats where card draw and mana fixing are crucial.
