This card, Undercity Uprising, would be beneficial in a Golgari midrange or control deck that focuses on creature combat and removal. While it provides a temporary boost to your creatures with deathtouch and allows for targeted creature removal, there are potentially better options such as Assassin's Trophy or Vraska's Contempt, which offer more versatile and permanent removal options. However, Undercity Uprising could still see play in specific creature-heavy strategies that benefit from the fighting mechanic.

If both target creatures are illegal targets by the time Undercity Uprising tries to resolve, the spell doesn’t resolve. No creatures deal damage or gain deathtouch.

Remember that a source with deathtouch has to deal damage, but not necessarily combat damage, to destroy another creature. As long as the fighting creature you control has power greater than 0 (and the damage isn’t prevented), the fighting creature you don’t control will be destroyed.
