A deck focused on Elves would benefit greatly from including Timberwatch Elf, as it can provide a significant boost to the power and toughness of your creatures based on the number of Elves you control. However, there are other cards like Elvish Archdruid that can provide similar benefits and have additional abilities such as mana ramp. Timberwatch Elf could still see play in Elf tribal decks as a solid inclusion for its combat-enhancing ability.

The number of Elves on the battlefield is counted only as Timberwatch Elf’s ability resolves. If Timberwatch Elf is still on the battlefield, it’ll count itself.
