A control deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's mana base would benefit from using Planar Overlay, as it can set back their land development and potentially disrupt their game plan. If you have a land which counts as multiple land types, you can choose that land as each of those types. For example, a dual land could be chosen as two of your land types.
