This card, Perilous Research, would benefit control decks looking to draw cards while also managing their board state. It can be particularly useful in decks that can easily sacrifice a low-value permanent for card advantage. While there may be better options like Thirst for Knowledge or Fact or Fiction for card draw in certain situations, Perilous Research could still see play in decks that value the card draw and are able to leverage the sacrifice effect effectively.
