Hopeless Nightmare would be a great addition to a black control deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides both disruption and card advantage. While it may not be a standout card on its own, its ability to make opponents discard and lose life upon entering the battlefield, as well as providing a scry effect upon its death, can be valuable in disrupting opponents' strategies and maintaining card advantage.
