Guardian of the Gateless would be a great addition to a white control deck focused on defense and stalling the opponent's attacks. Its ability to block any number of creatures makes it a versatile defender, and its ability to grow in power while blocking can help it take down multiple threats. While there may be more efficient options for defense in certain situations, such as Baneslayer Angel or Lyra Dawnbringer, Guardian of the Gateless could still see play in decks looking for a resilient and flexible blocker.

Guardian of the Gateless’s last ability triggers only once when it’s declared as a blocker no matter how many creatures it’s blocking.
