A white control deck focused on slowing down aggressive creature-based strategies would benefit from including Authority of the Consuls, as it effectively stalls the opponent's board development and provides incremental life gain. While there are other options like Thalia, Guardian of Thraben or Thalia, Heretic Cathar that may offer additional disruptive effects, Authority of the Consuls can still be a solid choice in certain metagames, especially against token or aggro decks.
